Need help using the Lincoln library online.
I need to find scholarly, peer reviewed literature on medical issues and I can't figure it out thru Lincolns online library

Answer

Hi Debbie! Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. Our weather closure on Friday likely prevented someone from seeing this query sooner.

First, based on the information you've provided, I think you may likely be looking for articles on a non-specific topic related to a medical issues. I can generally show you how to find something in that line, but if it is something more specific, you may have to do a little digging.

That said, let's start fresh.

First we go to the library website: https://www.lincolnu.edu/web/library

Then we look for the quick search bar (you may need to scroll down a little):

Most instructors, when they use the word literature along with the phrases "scholarly and peer reviewed", mean an article related to the topic, so choose the Article tab and then fill in the search bar with the phrase you are looking for.

This will take you into the next page, where you can refine your search. You will see another search bar. Choose Advanced Search.

In the advanced search page, you'll be given options that will allow you to specifically choose scholarly and peer reviewed articles. You may need to scroll down a bit. You can also choose full text articles, if you intend to read the articles.

If you want to make any adjustments to your search, for instance a more specific topic, then you can do that now and then click search at the top. The articles that come up from that search will now only be from scholarly, peer reviewed journals.

I hope this helps, and if you have any further questions, please let us know.
